Sorry followers this is not a story, just a quick update on the posting schedule. I am going to be changing the schedule starting next week so my regular mircrofiction (100-300) word posts are on Mondays, and the short stories move to Wednesday. The reason for this? I decided to give the six sentence story a longer run, and will be posting these on Fridays until November.
I figure this will give me a good block of time to see if this format is working for me or not. I also plan (in the not so distant future) to try my hand at podcasting. If all goes well I should be doing bi-weekly episodes starting in October/November. So keep an eye out, because the nook is expanding!
Just going to start by apologizing as this is not a story, just a quick update. I am launching Microfiction Mondays, so pieces that are 250 words or less. I will be starting off every other Monday until I get a little built up, and then I am going to go form there. Hopefully by September I will be able to do weekly Monday Microfiction as well as Thursday Short Stories. Anywho, that’s it for today. Thanks for reading.
I have decided to start a blog to showcase my writing. I am going to start by posting a brief description of me which can also be found on the about the author page. The goal is to post something weekly on Thursday nights, and I hope to keep to that. If you have any questions, or comments about the work. Please let me know. Thanks!
My name is Anne McSommers. I am a program coordinator at a major pharmaceutical company by day and an author by night. I write mainly queer general fiction and romance, but I also dabble in science fiction and fantasy.
I have been writing since I was 6, and terrified my first-grade teacher with an entirely fictional story about a 6-year-old girl with a terrible life. My overactive imagination has led to me writing on and off through 7 moves and 6 job industries, and 3 engineering degrees until I finally conquered my first NaNoWriMo challenge in November 2019.
I am a regular entrant to the reedsyprompt short story contest where I have two shortlisted works “The Choice” and “Maladroit”. I am also the proud owner of “The Writer’s Mess”, an online writing community I established in March 2020, and run with the never-ending assistance of Sarah Lauzon.
