I have decided to start a blog to showcase my writing. I am going to start by posting a brief description of me which can also be found on the about the author page. My name is Anne McSommers. I am a program coordinator at a major pharmaceutical company by day and an author by night. I write mainly queer general fiction and romance, but I also dabble in science fiction and fantasy.
I have been writing since I was 6, and terrified my first-grade teacher with an entirely fictional story about a 6-year-old girl with a terrible life. My overactive imagination has led to me writing on and off through 7 moves and 6 job industries, and 3 engineering degrees until I finally conquered my first NaNoWriMo challenge in November 2019.
I am a regular entrant to the reedsyprompt short story contest where I have two shortlisted works “The Choice” and “Maladroit”. I am also the proud owner of “The Writer’s Mess”, an online writing community I established in March 2020, and run with the never-ending assistance of Sarah Lauzon.
